Memphis artist Martin Powell, professionally known as PreacherMan, is no stranger to the music and recording industry. With his distinctive sound, top-shelf production, and unwavering dedication to his craft, PreacherMan creates music that stands apart.
Ordained by God at an early age, PreacherMan believes he was called to spread the good news that Jesus saves through both his music and his lifestyle. Whether performing at car shows, clubs, churches, or community events, he is committed to sharing his message wherever there is a microphone.
His talent has earned him numerous honors, including winning the Mic-Check Memphis Open Mic Competition; being named Juneteenth’s Best Hip-Hop Performer in 2015 and 2016; receiving the Stone Awards’ Best Holy Hip-Hop Artist award in 2016, 2017, and 2018; placing fifth at Nashville’s Coast 2 Coast event in 2015; and finishing third on the Hood Idol Tour in 2021.
PreacherMan released The Chronicles, Vol. 1 in September 2017, followed by The Chronicles, Vol. 2 in November 2018. His catalog also includes the singles “I Ain’t Going Nowhere,” accompanied by a theatrical music video, “Down for Whatever,” and “Amen”—all released in 2021 and available on digital platforms.
Since 2019, PreacherMan has also served as a voting member and artist of the Recording Academy’s Memphis Chapter. With faith at the center of his artistry and a growing body of work, PreacherMan continues to make his voice—and his message—heard.
