Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, Zoe Shalome-Inez Johnson developed a deep appreciation for the city's rich musical heritage from an early age. Her musical journey began in middle school when she chose orchestra as her elective—a decision that would shape the course of her life.
In December 2023, Zoe earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Austin Peay State University. Today, she teaches private violin lessons and performs throughout Memphis and the surrounding region, bringing joy to audiences through a diverse repertoire that spans gospel, R&B, country, pop, classical, and more.
Performing under the name Avid Violin, Zoe has established herself as both a violinist and original recording artist. She released her debut single, "Dawn," on February 2, 2024, followed by "G-Minor" on August 2, 2024. On June 27, 2025, she released her debut album, DAWN, further showcasing her artistry as a composer and performer.
By 2026, Zoe had performed with three symphonies, composed music for fellow artists, and become a featured performer in monthly shows at Dbo's Riverdale alongside the Soul Setters. Their growing success led to a featured interview and live performance on Live at 9 on January 12, 2026.
Faith remains at the center of Zoe's life and music. She attends Gathering of Christ Church, where she serves alongside her parents as a worship leader. Whether performing on stage, composing new music, teaching aspiring musicians, or collaborating with fellow artists, Zoe is committed to using her gifts to inspire others while following the Most High's leading wherever He directs her next.
