Austin Varner is a country and bluegrass songwriter from Henderson, Tennessee, now based in Memphis as a medical student at UTHSC. Steeped in 60’s/70’s country and acoustic tradition, his songs blend heartfelt lyrics with the sounds of fiddle, banjo, and guitar. Drawing inspiration from growing up in the rural south and playing music across West Tennessee and Arkansas with his band Jackie Austin & Friends, Austin writes songs that are both grounded and deeply personal.
