I call myself “God’s Little Radio.” I am a producer, singer - songwriter, rapper, visual artist and aspiring audio engineer and music is the medium through which I express myself most fully. My name Tangela Renee Ferrell Mathis means “the heavenly messenger reborn bravely". While from the onset, my music may not seem “heavenly”, I know that it is my life’s purpose to express the FULL width and depth of my human experience as a service to humanity. As a youth, I dedicated myself to music by way of The Stax Music Academy in Memphis, TN where I traveled the country and state performing the sacred music of my city. From there, I received a full scholarship to Berklee College of Music where I received a professional music degree in Electronic Production and Design and Vocal Performance. I graduated in 2019 and now I work consistently as an audio technician for venues in and out of the Memphis area. I get to experience the building blocks of what makes a performance possible and as a performing artist I vow never to be a diva who disrespects their crew because I have been blessed with the gift of being the crew.
