2010 DELTA FAIR GENERAL INFORMATION

Lost Articles- Report and recover lost and found articles at the Show Office.
First Aid- First aid station will be located on the Fairgrounds. Ambulance service will be maintained throughout the period of the Fair.
Restrooms- Restroom facilities are provided throughout the grounds.
Official Photographer- An official photographer will be designated for the Delta Fair Livestock Department. Anyone wishing to engage the services of this photographer may get in touch with him through the Livestock Office.
Mail Service- Mail and parcels addressed to the exhibitors, concessionaires and others connected with or attending the Fair should be called for at the Fair Administration Office.
Feed Store- Grain, hay and straw will be available at reasonable prices for Livestock.
Trailer Space- Limited space for trailer and RV hook-ups is available for livestock exhibitors, parking in lot with trailer hookups will be $20 per night, and this includes water and electric hookup. Livestock parking behind barns without hookup will be a first come basis for exhibitors only at no charge.
Official Veterinarian- The management will appoint an Official Veterinarian and such other assistants as may be necessary. The Veterinarian in charge will be available in case of sickness of any animal to take charge and advise treatment of same. A reasonable charge will be made upon the owner of such service.
Church Services- Services will be held on the fairgrounds at 8:00 a.m. on both Sundays during the Fair.

LIVESTOCK RULES AND REGULATIONS

IMPORTANT: Exhibitors are asked to read the following rules and regulations, as they will be enforced.

The management of the Delta fair Livestock Department reserves the right to amend, add to and interpret the following Rules and Regulations and to arbitrarily settle and determine all questions and differences in regard thereto, or otherwise arising out of, connected with or incident to the Fair. In the event of conflict between the General Rules and the Special Rules, which appear as head notes of the various Divisions and Department of the Fair, the special rules will govern.

LIABILITY

The owner or custodian of property of any kind brought to the Delta Fair assumes, as a condition of its admission, all risk of and responsibility for its loss, damage, or theft. Each exhibitor will be solely responsible for any consequence, liability or any other loss, injury or damage done to, or occasioned by, or arising from any animal or article exhibited by him. He shall indemnify the Delta Fair against all legal or other process in regard thereto, including attorney fees and any other litigation expenses, as well as damage or injury to any other person or property caused by the exhibitor or animals exhibited by him.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ENTRY

  1. All entries must abide by the Tennessee Department of Agriculture’s Livestock Health Requirements of Fairs and Exhibition. All animals must have an Official Veterinary Health certificate available for inspection.
  2. Diseased animals will not be allowed in the livestock areas. Superintendents have the right to reject and remove animals showing any signs or characteristics of disease.
  3. Competition is open to the world unless otherwise stated in the special rules governing a particular department.
  4. All animals in the open breeding classes must be registered as the property of the owner in the books of record for their respective breed, at least thirty (30) days prior to the opening of the Fair. Junior exhibitors see respective division.
  5. Exhibitors must have the original certificates of registry unless otherwise stated in the special rules governing a particular breed or division. Exhibitors must produce certificates of registry at the request of the show committee in charge.
  6. If an exhibitor has been disqualified from competition in a major show or has had a premium withheld or withdrawn on the grounds of rule violation, misrepresentation, fraud, or deception, he will not be allowed to compete in the Delta Fair two (2) consecutive years. Appli`cation for entry will be reviewed each year.
  7. All entry application must be on current Delta Fair entry forms in the name of the owner that appears on the registration certificates and must include lot and class numbers, animal’s name, birth date, registration number and all other necessary information. Entries will not be processed without social security number or EIN. These entries must be signed, and then sent to Delta Agribusiness P.O. BOX 1327 Cordova, TN 38088.
  8. Each exhibitor (parent or legal guardian if exhibitor is a minor) must sign the statement on the entry form acknowledging that he understands and will abide by the rules and regulations and the liability requirements of the Delta Fair.
  9. ELIGIBILITY: “exhibitors” are the ones bringing the animals and showing them. “Owners” are the legal owners per the registration papers. All premium money will be paid to the “exhibitors”.
  10. Any animal entered for exhibition must be presented in its natural conformation and natural physical condition, with no other preparations except those of feeding, training and fitting. The showings of unethically fitted livestock or livestock of any ineligible age for the class entered are prohibited. Unethical fitting consist of any method altering the natural conformation of any part of the animal’s body. All cattle must be shown with a halter. All Bulls, 1 year old and older, must be shown with a nose lead.
  11. The deadline for Open Beef entries is August 13, the deadline for Junior beef and all Open is August 13. Entries mailed after the entry deadline will be accepted if stall space is available. When entries exceed stall or pen space, they will be accepted according to the received date. Stalling of the animals will be given preference over stalls for tack. LATE ENTRIES WILL BE CHARGED DOUBLE ENTRY FEES.
  12. Everyone must have either an unlimited admission bracelet or a daily admission ticket. With the purchase of an exhibitors pass, exhibitors will receive free one (1) free unlimited admission bracelet, and one for every 5 animals entered. All other spectators must pay fair admission or buy unlimited admission bracelets for $12 that can be purchased at the Livestock gate.

*Junior Exhibitors who enter the Open show must pay entry fees for both the Junior and the Open shows.
Junior Exhibitors may use their Junior Exhibitor Pass to show in Open Show. (Additional Exhibitor Passes will not be required.)

*Parking for exhibitors is free on a first come basis behind barns.
*Trailer hook-up which includes electric and water will be $20 per night.

Fans are allowed in barns.
Cots are allowed in barns
No radios without earphones.
No smoking allowed in barns.
